children reading under the tree in the Children's LibraryThe Children’s Department serves children from birth through fifth grade, as well as their parents and teachers. We offer resources and programming to encourage literacy, inspire creativity, and instill a lifelong love of learning.

We have weekly story times for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. We also offer monthly programs for school age children, including: The Break-It Make-It Lab, Lego Club, Chess Club, and Reading to Rover. We host many exciting one-time events, including craft programs, author visits, music programs, and many more! For a full list of our upcoming events, check out our children’s calendar.

There’s always a librarian available to help you find what you’re looking for and answer any questions you may have. You can also call the Children’s Department directly at (203)284-6436.
