Wallingford Public Library has a large collection
of museum passes that can be borrowed. Here is a list of all the passes
currently in our collection. Call the Library at (203) 265-6754 for
more information about theses passes.
New: “Twofers” ~ The Library now offers two great deals:
1) The American Clock & Watch Museum pass and the New England Carousel
Museum pass can be taken out together. Enjoy a day in Bristol at these
great, small museums. Be sure to drive through the historic Federal
hill area.
2) Harriet Beecher Stowe House pass and the Mark Twain House pass can
be taken out together! Next door to each other, these two homes provide
a glimpse into the private lives of two of our nation’s most
important and influential authors.
American

The finest collection of American manufactured clocks and watches on
public display. History and research of timepieces along with a sundial

The
Barnum Museum

The Barnum Museum, established in 1893, is the only museum dedicated
to the life and times of Phineas Taylor Barnum, the famous circus owner.
It contains three floors of fascinating exhibits, including a mummy
from the tombs of ancient Egypt.

The Beardsley Zoo is a 33-acre facility dedicated to wildlife education,
conservation, research and recreation. The majority of its exhibits
are devoted to the rare and wonderful animals of North and South America.
It has a rainforest exhibit, as well as a farmyard especially for the
young children.

Admits: One free admission with every paid admission. A hands-on science,
technology and nature museum that features a 30-foot walk–in
kaleidoscope, a marine life touch tank, a miniature zoo, animal demonstrations,
laser light and planetarium shows, a hands-on discovery room, the Kids
Factory for preschoolers to explore, a computer center and more. Changing
exhibits and events are presented throughout the year. Roaring Brook
Nature Center offers displays on flora and fauna, a replica of an Eastern
Woodland Indian longhouse and a small collection of live animals.

Discovery Museum and Planetarium

Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk

This pass gives $2.00 off a combination ticket to the Aquarium and
Imax Theatre per person up to 6 people.
The aquarium explores the marine life and maritime culture of Long
Island Sound featuring sharks, sea turtles, jellies and more than 1,000
other marine animals. The only Imax theatre in Connecticut offers a
variety of films throughout the year.

Guided tours are available of this 19-room, Tiffany decorated mansion,

There is one library pass for each day of the week. Each pass entitles
two adults and their children or grandchildren, 18 and under, to free
admission to Mystic Seaport on the day that is printed on the card.
You must have the correct pass for the day you wish to use it at the
museum.
Mystic Seaport is the largest maritime museum in North America. Visitors
can sail or row replicas of traditional wooden boats, cruise in an
antique steamboat, star gaze in the planetarium or just climb aboard
ships.

The Carousel Museum displays one of the largest collections of antique
wooden carousel art on the East Coast. In addition, within the building,
are the museum of Fire History and a fine arts gallery.

Peabody Museum

The Peabody Museum has more than 11 million specimens and artifacts
in biology, paleontology, botany, geology, anthropology and scientific
instruments. The Great Hall of Dinosaurs displays a dramatic collection
of fossil skeletons. The cultures, beliefs and daily lives of peoples
from around the world are exhibited in the Hall of Native American

Shoreline Trolley Museum

The Shoreline Trolley Museum is the oldest operating trolley museum
in the United States. It has a collection of nearly 100 vintage vehicles
as well as artifacts and documents from the trolley era. A 3 mile round
trip aboard a fully restored trolley car runs over the original tracks
of a scenic country trolley line.
The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art

Admits: two adults and two children (ages 6-17). The pass is not valid
during the annual Festival of Trees & Traditions and Fine Art & Flower
fundraising events. The pass may not be used to reserve advance special
exhibition tickets.
The Wadsworth Atheneum is America’s oldest public art museum.
Its collections and exhibits are wide ranging and world-renowned and
include Hudson River School landscapes, Old Master paintings, modernist
masterpieces, early American furniture and more.
General Information - The passes that offer free admission
have been purchased with Library Development funds in order to make
this opportunity available to our patrons.
Passes are available on a first come first served basis.
Passes may be checked out over the phone but they may not be reserved
in advance.
There is a $5.00 per day overdue fine when a pass is not returned by
the due date.
There is a $75.00 charge for a lost museum pass [or replacement cost
if less].
One pass may be borrowed per family.
Passes must be returned to the Information Desk.

before you go to be sure the museum is open.
