Summertime and the Reading Is Easy

2013 Teen Summer Reading Program
July 1st-August 30th

Earn prizes by reading books this summer! All teens in grades 6-12 are welcome to participate. No registration is necessary. You may read whatever you like.

The program is super simple…when you have finished reading a book, come to the Information Desk and fill out a prize entry form to qualify to win a prize of your choice. Entry forms will be accepted up until 9 pm on Friday, August 30th. There will be a drawing on Tuesday, September 3rd and all winners will be notified. All participants are eligible for the grand prize drawing: a $50 Wal-Mart gift card.

Our programming this summer offers something for everyone. All programs are open to all teens in grades 6-12 unless otherwise noted. Please be sure to sign up in advance as slots are limited and tend to fill up quickly. You may register in person at the Information Desk, by phone, or through our online calendar. Upcoming Events

Henna Workshop
Thursday, August 22nd, 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Collins Room

Join us for a presentation on the history and modern use of henna. Each teen will receive a henna tattoo of their choice. The design will last from 1-3 weeks. Please be sure to bring a completed permission slip (also available at the Information Desk) in order to receive a tattoo. Please register online or by phone at (203)265-6754.

Teen Cuisine: Apple Pie Cookies
Wednesday, August 28th, 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Community Room

Learn to make gooey caramel apple pie cookies. These are not your Grandma’s cookies! All materials provided, and beginner cooks always welcome. Please register online or by phone at (203)265-6754.
