This year the Children’s Room has two fantastic new programs so kids of all ages (babies included!) can join in the fun. Please call or stop by the Children’s Room with any questions. The Wide World of YA:

2014 Teen Summer Reading Program

Where will you trek this summer?

atlas and globeAll teens in grades 6-12 are welcome to join our reading expedition. No registration is necessary. The program will run from July 1st-August 29th. Each book you read earns you the chance to win a prize of your choice.

This year we're adding something special...an interactive Google Map! When you stop by the Library to fill out your entry form you'll have the opportunity to pin markers on the settings of your books on our interactive Google Map. Throughout the summer you can view the map on our website, Twitter, and Facebook to see where everyone has travelled and what people are reading.

Those who are well read are well travelled! What are you waiting for? Get going on your Summer Reading Trek!!

A Summer Reading Program for Adults 18 Years and Older

Kick-off Event: Author Jessica Robinson, “New England Farmgirl: Recipes and Stories from a Farmer’s Daughter”

Tuesday, June 30th at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room

Join us for an entertaining evening with Jessica Robinson. Jessica grew up on her family farm in Burlington, CT where farm-to-table was a way of life. She’ll share her stories and recipes and you will have the chance to win a copy of her new book.

Program Details

Kick back this summer with a good book and you will have the chance to treat yourself to one of Wallingford’s great restaurants! Pick up entry forms from the Information Desk beginning June 30th.

All you have to do is read or listen to a book and fill out an entry form to be eligible to win a $25.00 gift certificate to a local restaurant. Drawings will be held every two weeks beginning July 17th through August 21st. Read ‘Em and Eat aprons and other prizes will be given away at food-themed programs throughout the summer. A $50.00 grand prize gift certificate to one of the participating restaurants will be awarded at the conclusion of the program.
