Wallingford is home to dozens of innovative manufacturers that have played key roles in the global marketplace, contributing to the economy and community. In many cases, the products they make are cutting-edge, life-saving, and life enhancing. The Wallingford Public Library presents “Made in Wallingford,” a program series highlighting hometown industry leaders who will share their stories, challenges, and successes.

This month, Frank DiCristina, the site manager of the Wallingford plant for allnex, will talk about this leading global producer of industrial coating resins and additives for architectural, industrial, protective, automotive, and special purpose coatings, and inks.

Adulting 101: Basic Cooking & Grocery Shopping

Adulting 101 is a new series of workshops that focus on basic how-tos to help new adults move more confidently into adult life.

Join ShopRite’s Registered Dietitian Marisa McCoy for a hands-on workshop of basic cooking techniques. After you learn the basics, you’ll create a three-day meal plan. Sample recipes will be provided. On the following night, Wednesday, September 27th at 7:00 p.m., Marisa will give a grocery store tour at ShopRite of Wallingford, 846 North Colony Road. You will shop for the ingredients for your three-day meal plan, learn efficient grocery shopping techniques, and discover fun and trendy products in the grocery store. Tastings are included!
