Buck Brannaman inspired the novel and film The Horse Whisperer with his uncanny ability to communicate with horses. This uplifting documentary shows how Buck turned his abusive childhood into insight about what horses and their humans need: kindness and respect.

Please join us for film first, then conversation! Brooks Appelbaum and Dennis Bell will moderate. No registration required.

One Book, One Wallingford: Clue #2

Clue #2: The author was a high school literature teacher and soccer and basketball coachWe are excited to announce the launch of a One Book, One Town event for Wallingford. Our goal of One Book, One Wallingford is to bring the community together in reading a book, which we also will gather to discuss. A group of librarians, community leaders, and volunteers met several times over the past few months to pick a book and plan related events.

The culminating event is a visit by the author and book signing at the Paul Mellon Arts Center on Wednesday, April 4th at 7:00 p.m. A limited number of tickets for the event will be available for free at the Library beginning January 10th.

We will be posting hints over the next few weeks as to the book and author. Anyone who guesses the correct book title before the final reveal on January 10th will be entered into a drawing to win a copy of the book. To enter your guess, send an email to jrio@wallingfordlibrary.org with OBOW in the subject line. You may guess an unlimited number of times, but only one correct guess per person will be included in the final drawing.
