A New Face at the Circulation Desk

By Wallingford Pub... - Posted on 06 October 2009

The Wallingford Public Library has just become more technologically advanced – and more child-friendly – with the installation of a self-checkout machine. The system, positioned with the intention of attracting lots of our smaller patrons, allows adults and children to check out books and other materials without having to wait in line at the checkout counter.

The computer will scan your library card and the bar codes of books and media, with onscreen directions in simple terms (in the language of your choice), and an accompanying instructional video.

Next time you’re in the library, ask a staff member to give you a quick introduction to the self-checkout system.
