Lunch and Learn: Sleeplessness

Ask the Tech Guru

Mondays, 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Collins Room

We are excited to announce a new ongoing program – Ask the Tech Guru. Stop by the Collins Room from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Mondays and pose your toughest (or easiest) questions to Kevin Ozer, a technology expert who previously had conducted these informal workshops at the Wallingford Senior Center. You’ll expand your computer knowledge not only from the answers to your own questions but also from those of the other attendees. No registration is required. Bring your laptop or gadget if you have one.

Odd Couples Getting Even - Live Theater Performance

Saturday, September 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room

Join us for a performance of three short plays, two from Thornton Wilder and based on the sins of Envy and Pride: “A Ringing of Doorbells” and “Bernice;” along with Theresa Rebeck’s all-out hilarious look at the clash between Broadway and Hollywood: “The Contract.” Directed by Brooks Appelbaum and Moira Malone. Cast members include three Wallingford residents (Doug Benham, Rob Obie, and Tiffany Sabato). Technical Direction by Dennis Bell. A Theatrical Presentation by Wild Surmise Theater. Additional production dates: Sept. 19, 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Best Video Performance Space, Hamden, CT.

Friday Night Flicks Presents: Snow White and the Huntsman

In a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen. Rated PG-13.

SAT Preparation Seminar With Ellis Ratner

Thursday, September 13th, 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Collins Room

Attention all high school students! Improve your SAT scores with a free test preparation seminar. The focus will be on effective and rapid vocabulary development as well as how to best approach the essay writing section of the exam. Learn effective time management, optimum approaches to critical reading, sentence improvement, and sentence error identification.

Ellis Ratner, a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania and co-author of several books will conduct this free workshop. Please register online or by phone at (203)265-6754.

Reflexology Demonstration

Wednesday, September 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room

Reflexology is a therapeutic method of relieving pain by stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet and hands. Jo Li, owner of Foot Reflexology in Wallingford, will give a hands-on demonstration. Please register online or by phone at (203)265-6754.
