Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as the world’s most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes, and Jude Law returns as his friend and colleague Dr. Watson. Rated PG-13.

Efrain Nieves, chef and owner of Tata’s Restaurant, will demonstrate some of his favorite recipes. This program is in support of the teen summer reading program, Teen Cuisine, and the adult summer reading program, Read ‘Em and Eat.
Participants will learn how Chef Nieves began his restaurant career and how Caribbean and Latin American influences have shaped his cuisine. Samples will be served, and a variety of cookbooks from the library’s collection will be on display and available to check out. Seating is limited. Teenagers and adults interested in attending must register online or by phone at (203)265-6754.
Open to all readers in grades 6 through adult. Bakers should bring one dozen home-made cookies to the Library's Information Desk by 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25th. No store bought dough allowed! The winner will be announced on Thursday, July 26th at 6:30 p.m. Stop by and sample the entries while they last! The winner will be featured on a "READ" poster and win a gift certificate to the Book Seller. You do not need to be present to win. Download an entry form or pick one up at the Information Desk. Choate Rosemary Hall science teacher Doug Wolff will show us the planets and constellations of the summer sky at the school’s observatory. Meet at the parking lot on Rosemary Lane, off of Christian St.
The Library will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. Regular hours resume Thursday, July 5th.
